2007-2014
The liquidMaps.org platform is a Web 2.0 service created for the purpose of archiving, relating, mapping and making known the contemporary creation and production of the emerging arts.
As an interactive platform, liquidMaps.org provides a chart of the performing arts and their creative clusters, an extensive and intense journey through a series of conceptual maps related to the Cultural and Intangible Heritage. As a forum for creators, producers, centres, users, clients and institutions, liquidMaps.org is a valuable new instrument of relationship and knowledge, contact and dissemination.
If contemporary art is elusive and changeable, liquid, we need to ask ourselves whether this is also true of the map of the creative process, and if these processes are still closely linked to the territory, or exist and interact at other levels. liquidMaps.org raises these questions, and responds with a virtual platform from which to establish this network of communicating vessels that bring into contact various projects and centres of cultural creation and management, enabling mutual visibility, engagement and interaction between centres and creators, companies and festivals, companies and institutions and from these to the Net surfers or users and vice versa.
Institutions, foundations, associations, observatories, schools, groups, artists, companies, specialists and other stakeholders in the public and private cultural sector make up this new forum on the Net. Above and beyond the trends and dérives in the creative output of the moment, liquidMaps.org is designed with rigour to get to the surprises, as well as being a forum for networking, a map of creativity, dissemination and collaboration, and a dynamic instrument in the service of promoting creativity.
